Welcome!

This site is about sailing yachts built by ScanYacht AB. The Swedish firm ScanYacht AB builds sailing yachts known as Scanner or Scanyacht; they are the successor to the more internationally known Scanmar boats. The builder, Nils-Eric Oloffson, runs a small yard that produces these exceedingly well-built and beautiful yachts. Most Scanner yacht owners come from Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Australia.

There are five different types of Scanyacht:

Scanner 38
This was the original yacht that the yard started with in the 1980's. This type was succeeded by the Scanner 391.

Scanner 391
An modernization of the Scanner 38, it uses the same hull molds but a renewed deck layout and an updated interior. As of 2007, at least 240 yachts were sold.

Scanner 399DS
A decksaloon version of the same hull, this was sold for a number of years.

Scanner 361
Released in 2007, this and uses a completely new hull and deck but you could be forgiven for not noticing as the styling is very much the same.

Scanner 392
The most recent variation of the Scanner 391, this time with a new 19/20th rig that is more performance oriented. The longer forestay and lengthened boom give a larger sail area. To compensate for this, the keel has a bulb resulting in a higher righting moment.
