I have just bought a 399DS, she is to be kept on the Clyde in Scotland and used for cruising the West Coast of Scotland.
It seems very difficult to remove the engine box - I wouldn't fancy doing it when in any sort of sea if either the fan belt, impellor or access to the front of the engine was required. Any useful tips? I was thinking of splitting the box vertically so that the front part could be removed.
Any help appreciated

Hi Barry,

Welcome! I'm afraid that there are only a few 399 DS owners 'round here, as you know most ships are the 38/391 type. Engine access on those is excellent, so we can't help you.

Maybe if you upload some pictures we get an idea what you're after?
