Rudder mounted but floating – 232 viewsWith the ropes to the bottom still loose the rudder floats, of course (made from wood!).
As you pull on the ropes the rudder has no option but to go downwards and forwards as the top is fixed to the swimming steps.
Rudder mounted – 260 viewsThe rudder is fixed to the ladder using a bit of rope as well. If used in earnest we'd probably add an extra fixing line from the front of the plank to the backstay mounts.
